|SEASONS GARDEN DESIGNLLC
award-winning, sustainable landscape design for Portland, OR Region and SW Washington
"Your plans alone were a work of art. You made it so easy for our landscaper to perform and complete
your design. And if that were not enough, because you cared enough to observe their progress and assist
them with the plant placement, we have a garden one would only expect to see in Versailles!
Even our neighbors have thanked us for the view!"

|Regardless of where you are (Portland, OR. or Vancouver, WA.), you will want to know how to get started and how much your project might cost. Here's how Seasons Garden Design LLC serves you:|
HOW WE BEGIN:
2-HR CONSULTATION: Minimum 2 hours for $250. We visit your site, chat with you about your needs, address questions you have, discuss and/or sketch possible solutions, review costs, talk about plants, pruning, and more. If you need more than a consultation then we will develop the project design fee.
PROJECT DESIGN FEE: Every landscaping project is unique, with its own level of complexity, size and scope. Design fees range accordingly. A small backyard design might be $800, while over an acre can cost at least $3,000. Much depends on the scope desired by a client. Feel free to call and discuss our fees with us. (NOTE: As a design firm, not a construction company, our vested interest is YOU. We will not try to sell you what is left over from a previous project or see how we can increase the cost of construction.) For a defined scope of services, we can develop a fixed fee or bill by the hour, your choice. Bottom line: we work with your budget.
BILLING: Typically, we divide a project fee into 3 payments, with at least one-third of the fee due as a retainer. Then at least 1/3 is payable at the concept review meeting and the remainder is due upon completion of the master plan or installation plans. This varies with size and type of project.
We bill according to our letter of agreement or, if hourly, upon completion of the consultation or services-to-date. Payments are always due upon receipt of invoice or at the end of the consultation. We accept credit cards via PayPal, but also add the bank costs to cover the additional fee that PayPal charges us.
It is common practice for a contractor who provides 'design' to lower the cost of design services only to add that cost to the construction phase. There is no such thing as 'free design'. We are your advocate before and during construction.
There is a rule of thumb that various professional organizations use to establish a garden construction budget. Anywhere from 4-15% of the value of your property is their recommended budget for design and installation of a garden. While this might seem high, consider the cost of adding a new room onto your home and the value it adds. Real estate professionals state that you will reap the benefit of this investment when you sell your home. Also consider the size of your property. The budget for a country property could be vastly different from a city lot. We can discuss your garden design and landscaping budget during our initial consultation.
